Sanzo frowned a little and glanced at Goku spread out on the bed behind him. A flash of thunder illuminating the gold in the monk's hair as he sat perched halfly on the window sill whilst thinking 'stupid' thought's. Stupid rain making him remember stupid things from his past. Everytime the same old thing...it wasn't on. It dampened Sanzo mood...just like rivers. Just generally water in general. Those two thing always made him remember his master..the one he couldn't protect. Either those blood stained memoried or the pained rememberances of when the other apprentice monks like him used to pick on him and his name all the time...singing rhymes and talking about him behind his back. But despite this...Sanzo grew usued to his name. Kouryu...the river rat they used to called him. But he was honoured that he was named after a river that was so powerful...although as his master pointed out. It wasn't very romantic. But Kouryu didn't care.
"Stupid monkey.." he muttered half to himself as Goku asked why the thunder was so scary "It's only scary because you think it is..." he muttered to the Bakasaru a little hard and was feeling the same usual annoyance that arose everytime Goku started to question him. "I thought you were going to shut up anyway.." he added after a small while. True..Goku said earlier that he would be quiet...but then again...that was before the storm started..and now Sanzo was getting in a fowl mood and the saru into a questionable one. Not the best of combinations.
Sanzo reached up to his cigerette in his mouth and held it between his first two fingers and blew out the smoke in one long trail. He sat there for a little just looking seemingly bored and annoyed out..the ashes of the cigerette dropping in small amounts to the floor.

The last spring roll had disappeared by the time that Sanzo had stopped speaking and now the monkey's attention was fixed elsewhere entirely. Wide golden eyes watched the fake monk carefully. His mouth never opened, he never spoke a word for minutes after Sanzo had told him to be quiet, he just sat still and remained silent. He watching him carefully, a guarded look within his eyes as if he just didn't want Sanzo to know what he was thinking at that moment. He didn't want Sanzo to know that he was slightly worried as he was every time there was a storm. Sanzo had never told him why the rain affected him in such a way, he was completely clueless as to why.
Goku hated secrets... He had none so why should everybody have theirs? It made him feel somewhat left out.
"I was going to shut up, but," he paused here, as if contemplating on just what to say, "will the storm last long? The last one went on for three days.." That had been a village at the bottom of a mountain though. This village was in the middle of freaking nowhere.. "It's so loud," he murmered into his pillow, one that he'd hugged to his chest as usual, "i don't like it."

Sanzo listened to sound of the rain pattering loudly against the panel beside him and the rolls of thunder that echoed outside. All that time Sanzo held a face towards the outside world yet seemed to look at nothing...his eyes a glaze of empty emotion that dared not face the earth infront of it. The silence eating away into the mind of Sanzo which he kept locked away inside...
It was all such a memory ridden moment untilt the Bakasaru spoke. Sanzo turned his head with an annoyed look on his face to look at Goku who was hugging a pillow to himself and spoke into it....stupid monkey..."How am i supposed to know?" he commented in an irritated way to the saru curtly "..just put up with it.." he snapped a little angrily...he shouldn't be taking out inner emotions on the saru...but then again..he couldn't but help feel a little antisocial and angry...he just wanted to be left alone...not bothered by anyone. Especially by annoying chimps. He turned his face away form Goku and replaced his cigerette back into his mouth..sucking up the rest of the nictotine before he finished it and had to either get another one or distract himself by other means.

Goku was once again staring at Sanzo, only breaking his gaze for a split second ever minute to blink slowly and languidly, the only sign that he gave to show he was tired. "Sanzo..." He spoke quietly, "You alright?" He didn't like it when Sanzo trailed off into thought... So he tried to break his train of thought as much as possible, even though the fake monk didn't really like it all that much and constantly told him to shut up. Goku truly didn't think that the saru cared so much for Sanzo. He was his sun.. He'd taken him out of the darkness and into a world so much more brighter than the sky. The only light that Goku needed came from his Sanzo and he would follow it to the ends of the earth, even if it meant following him into the firey pits of hell.
"I mean... You look well.. But you also look unwell," sometimes the saru just didn't make any sense, "do you want me to get you some water or something from the kitchens?"

Sanzo blinked and looked at the saru in a way to tell him why he should be feeling unwell. "Shut up you Bakasru...i'm fine.." he snapped and added the last bit a little more subdued as he turned his short attention to his cigerette that had reached it's ending point. He took it out..and as there seemed to be no ash trays around him...stubbed it on the wooden sill before him that he sat on and fished around for another cigerette from the packet conealed in his robes. But in opening the packet...he saw that he was down to his last two.."Dammit..." he muttered to himself and shoved the packet hastily away before getting his light and lighting up his second cigerette after his meal.
Sometimes simple things like cigerettes could try and distract him from thinking to much...yet again they could also aid that winderous train of thought. And at this moment of time as he smoked quietly and casually away with a droopy expression on his face...the thoughts began to intimidate his mind once again. Scenes of his childhood...Komyu Sanzo...flickers of what happened those years ago...And in doing so even managing to ignore Goku totally for a short while...if that was indeed possible.

"Hmph.." He muttered, pressing his mouth and nose against the pillow for a moment. Only the golden coronet, golden eyes and spikey, unruly brown hair was all that could be seen of his head. He usually even fell silent and still like this when he was either hurt or thinking. In this case he might be the both of those emotions.... He finally moved after Sanzo had lit the next cigerette. Long legs unfolded off of the bed and the boy stood up, still clutching the pillow in his arms. He probably wouldn't let go of it for the duration of the storm that was still raging outside.
He padded over to on bare feet (he'd kicked his shoes off whilst he was eating the spring rolls), "Is it raining everywhere right now, Sanzo?" He asked, peering out of the window at the sheets of water falling from the heavens, "all over shangri-la?"

Sanzo's trail of thought was distrupted subtly by the saru's spoken words...words that were questionable which accompanied a thoughtful face. A face that could easily turn into that dumbstruck expression Goku had first had when Sanzo first met him encaged in the mountain prison. Thoes wide gold eyes that looked up into Sanzo's younger than todays purple ones which stayed with him until this very day...in both fortunate and unfortunate cases that is. He turned those droopy, slightly tired purple eyes to Goku who stood near him still clutching that damn pillow and then looked back out at the rain...rain that sung his old nickname. "No...and if you keep on asking stupid questions i'll stop that mind of yours working perminantly..." he replied gruffly...still looking out of the window and looking from behind a light cloud of grey smoke.
Sanzo raised his arms up and reached to the sutra around his neck and removed it carefully from it's resting place between his slender neck. He placed it beside him to where he was sat...making sure as to not accidently damage it in any way..and slipped his arms out of his robes to fold them down to his waist...freeing black arm-warmer covered arms and his black sleeveless top. Something to just make him feel a little more comfortable now he was in a room that he could rest in with hopefully not much to worry about. Well it would have been if it hadn't been raining...that had just spoiled the calmness around him. Now he had a scared saru who just wouoldn't shut up and frankly his mood wasn't getting any better. Stupid weather. And still Sanzo remained solem and more quiet...

"No need to get moody... I was jus' asking," Goku replied calmly, golden eyes still watching the weather outside. Every flash of lightening that lit up the room made his breath hitch and his body flinch ever so slightly. But it was nothing compared to the rolling waves of thunder that (to him) seemed to shake the window pane, threatening to break the glass and send shards shooting into his and Sanzo's flesh. It wasn't a very nice thought... In fact it made him hate storms even more than he had done when he'd first been freed from that damn cave.
He took a step away from the window as another flash of lightening split through the sky, bundling onto the bed in what seemed to be a carefree manner. Though really he just wanted to try and hide (with his pillow) away from the storm, no matter how many times Sanzo told him it wouldn't hurt him and it was him who made it scary he would never believe him. If the storm and the rain made Sanzo edgy then why did he tell these things to Goku? How can Goku believe what Sanzo says when Sanzo doesn't seem to believe it himself... Or it seems to Goku that he doesn't believe it anyway....

Sanzo stared quietly out at the rain...his eyes seemed to be gazing into space...nothing...Sanzo didn't even reply to Goku's comment. Even if he had done..it would have been 'shut up' or something along the same lines. Goku's movement caught Sanzo's eye as the thunder rolled and crashed outside, causinf flashes of light to briefly illuminate the pair at the window behind the large vast glass. He looked at goku...but not a Goku at the same time...his eyes never really fully focusing...always happening to Sanzo when a rain storm occured. "It won't hurt you..." he said gruffly to Goku...a little annoyed that he had told the saru that many a time...and still he fretted from it.
Sanzo's fingers travelled up to hold the cigerette in his mouth..but as they reahced it..they stopped. Sanzo seemed to drift off into a trail of thought once again...he knew Goku would think he was sick..but that was never the case. Blood drenched in his hands and below his feet flashed before his eyes...a tear stained face belonging to his younger self briefly enveloped his vision as the dead body of his master appaeared before him like that fateful day he had discovered Komyu Sanzo murdered. Beads...his red beads...the ones he gave to Sheui..Sheui's smiling face right before Sanzo left...the sounds of his banishing gun as he ran through the forest...shooting at any youkai he encountered...fearful of them until his hands could be covered in blood split by him.. But blood could be washed away...memories however could not. When these moments hit Sanzo..he neither talked much or ate anything. He was very antisociable and he would even kick away anything that was brought before him to try to 'cheer him up'. Like he was sick or something. He once even hit Goku's worried hand away and sent him out. Which ended in trouble for Goku as he ran away.
Sanzo's mood changed completely...all of them noticed.

"I know that," Goku grumbled, mostly to himself. Sanzo was going to go off into the realm of memories whether Goku liked it or not, he'd better make peace with it otherwise he'd end up getting shot. Being killed by Sanzo wasn't something he aspired to do in his lifetime...
Goku had never really been exposed to the elements before. In his cave he was sheltered from the wind, rain, sun and snow. Everything was new to him... Though the rain and the sun he remembered somewhere in the back of his mind from someplace before. Sometime long long ago, so far back that he couldn't even remember. It was the thunder, lightening and snow that made the monkey restless. It was too loud and far too bright.
"Oi, Sanzo... You said you don't like the rain right?" He asked, just wanting to hear something other than the storm, "will ya ever tell me why? I think it's because you don't wanna get wet.." That should make Sanzo talk. Even if it is to snap or yell at him. Anything's better than nothing right?

Sanzo's trail of memories faded once again and he blinked. His hand moved away from the cigerette and he looked at Goku slightly annoyed..well...slightly to say the lest "I don't care if i get wet..." he snapped back in his rough rougish voice at the saru before him and turned his eyes back to outside "I'm not going to tell a stupid monkey like you...so don't waste your breath..." he added, his face away from Goku. His tone unfriendly and slightly unkind.
He would really tell Goku the real problem with him. The reason to just why that everytime it rained it made him think of stupid memories from his past that could not be undone. What happened...happened. There was no going back. Sure if he did actually tell Goku, he might just leave him be...but then again, Sanzo wasn't one to open up. Behind that droopy eyed face lay a past that haunted him for the rest of his life..and carry a vow that he would surely keep. To never attach himself and care about another being like he cared for his master. But somehow..within that vow. Lay tatters..gaps and shreaded areas. Sanzo may never want to admit to himself..but he knew that there was a permanent invisible bond between him and Goku. Ever since some 500years ago in the Heavens in his past life when the young Goku stared up at Konzen (Sanzo) and after commenting on his hair looking like the sun..yanked it out. The bond didn't have to necessarily be a heartily good one.
"Now just go to sleep..."

There was silence for a few seconds, even the weather seemed to quieten for a moment after Sanzo'd spoken... To Goku anyway, but then he had been slightly hurt by Sanzo's words, even if Hakkai had told him again and again that he didn't really mean it to be horrid. All sound came back as a flash of lightening lit the sky, closely followed by a rather loud clap of thunder. Maybe that was why he buried himself beneath the quilt as soon as Sanzo told him to go to bed, "alright... I'll sleep," came his softly spoken voice, muffled by the thin layers of material in which he was hidden beneath.
"As soon as you tell me why," he added almost as quietly as before. The group believed the things Goku did sometimes were stupid and idiotic, they never believed he thought before he did things. But most of the time he really did... Didn't he always reappear at the right moment? Didn't he normally get everything that he wanted? Perhaps, just maybe he'd hidden from view so as not to see his Sun turn away from him with such harsh words upon his tongue. What he had asked might have angered Sanzo, but he hadn't finished speaking yet, he didn't want to know why Sanzo didn't like the rain; "I want to know why you have so many secrets..." That was what he wanted to know. The saru hates secrets, friends, he believes, don't keep secrets from each other. Not really.. "I don't have any... Hakkai has them, so does Gojyo. I don't have any.."

Sanzo turned his head to Goku..his face more tinted in inner anger and painful thoughtfulness "Why can't you just-" Sanzo began to shout at Goku...and saw that saru hidden beneath the blankets..away from Sanzo's cutting purple eyes.. "-damn.." he said to himself as he looked at the form of Goku. He had done what Sanzo said...well part of it anyway. He had started too. Goku had got into his bed and looked like he could just fall asleep, but however...that small quiet voice of his reached Sanzo's ears from behind that thin sheet of quilt and calmnly and almost sadly questioned the monk. Secrets...The things that lay beneath the surface of almost every soul...apart form Goku. Goku, Sanzo knew, hated people keeping secrets form him. Yet still they did. Secrets where things that would not be told...things that people liked to keep inside, away form the outside world to dwell upon the inside. To cage them up like chains attached to their inner mind.
Sanzo didn't say anything for a short while...his head facing the floor and his body half-turned towards the saru under the covers. The sound of rain thundering outside and down the glass panel..the sound of rolling thunder...and eventually the harsh sound of Sanzo's voice "It's your choice if you tell everyone your secrets..." he commented trithfully and solidly...his voice coming from that partially blonde covered face that faced the floor, his body turning to more in line with his head so he could sit less awkwardly. "I have my reasons.." he added as he took a hand to his mouth and temporarily removed his burning cigerette from his mouth, a trail of smoke drifting to the ceiling. Even though the saru asked reasonable questions..Sanzo still felt that anti-social feeling expand...to just want to be alone. To dwell upon memories by himself. He didn't say so much as a long sentence...everything was more quiet or angry.

Goku flinched beneath the covers as he heard the angry tone within Sanzo's voice, but then he fell still as he heard the fake monk fall silent, even if it was for a split second before he cursed softly. Had he not expected to see Goku hiding himself away beneath the quilt, had he not known that the monkey would do as he was told to a certain degree?
Goku listened intently from the dark tent that he'd made, it muffled all sound from outside and blanketed his site so there was pratically nothing but the darkness. Usually he couldn't stand the dark, in normal circumstances his mind drifted back to those years within the cave whenever he was stuck in the dark. But now, at this moment in time he preferred the darkness beneath the duvet to the dark outside of it. For whenever it rained it put out what ligh Sanzo gave off, it smothered what little compassion the monk had to leave him cold, stern and dark. A darkness that Goku couldn't stand to look upon, could hardly stand to listen to. The clouds would lift soon though, hopefully by morning. Too long without the Sun would leave anybody to become slightly withdrawn, the moneky really didn't want to be put off of his food because of something as stupid as rain. The noise of the thunder was stifled, but yet he could still hear it, loud to his sensitive ears. And along with the thunder came Sanzo's curt reply. It's your choice if you tell everyone your secrets... It was almost as if the fright that the thunder gave Goku was working with Sanzo, working to try and make his responses seem to cut ever more deeply at the Saru. "But... I don't understand," he replied quietly, sounding as young as he looked, "Why have friends if you can't tell them your secrets?" During his five hundred year imprisonment he'd never had a friend, nor an enemy to speak a word too about anything. Can you really blame the heretic for wanting to tell everybody, everything and anything, just because for the first time in hundreds of years he actually could?

Friends? Hah...he always told everyone that they were companions or even servants to him. Never friends. Just because people may have friends didn't mean that people had to tell all their inner secrets. What happened if that person turned on you? Used your secrets to work with your weaknesses against you. Perhaps even try and destroy you. It was a risk that many a fool may have made. But not Sanzo. He would never let anyone know what his weaknesses were. The only people that may have found out were those like a stupid demon that had entrapped him once. Entered his mind's memories and found the past's frightful iamges that had haunted the fake monk from ever since his was a kid. But even then...a voice called out to him..the voice that helped him in total fight that demon off. The voice of Son Goku. The Bakasaru that followed Sanzo to anywhere he may go.
Sanzo continued looking at the floor for some time...not bothering to reply straight away to the saru..once again going into that driftful state that took all of Sanzo's liveliness out of him and left him cold and dark. Distant to the world around him. The figure of a golden haired male, smoking a cigerette sitting on a window's ledge with his elbows on his legs and having a curt conversation in a harsh tone with a monkey. Again..rain pouring outside to fill in all the gaps in the silence and offering a cold subsitute for conversation. "Just be quiet Goku.." again the monk's voice seemed to edge with a coolness that meant that he didn't want to talk. Didn't want to eat anything...didn't want to be in company. Sanzo stood up in one ruffiling sound of his robes moving and turned his body around to face the window fully and stood staring outside blankly. His arms crossed themselves over his slender frame and he tried to keep Goku out of his line of sight. Well at lest the saru hadn't studied his face like last time and went uneccessary shopping for him.
